IDCA Boston Conference
From July 2 to July 7 2023, some of our CCDC Â Chapter 18 members gathered for the ICDA-US Summer Conference in Boston. We had a joyful time learning and connecting with participants from all over the United States.
Our topic was Faith Strong: Be Not Afraid. Faith in God means a lot of things in our lives. It means that when we are able to trust in God, we know our life is in good hands. Finding strength through God will give us hope and trust, not fear. It will bring stability into our lives.
We gave thanks to God for what we had experienced and learned that we have so, SO much to be grateful for; through the worships, meetings, & churches we attended. It was an absolute gift to see all the ways we had personally grown in our relationships with God and others.
Boston has a ton of fun things to do and see. Going to a Red Sox home game at Fenway Park is one of the greatest, most fun “Boston“ experience.
We went to different places to eat and spent time with the priests, deaf and hearing, which was very entertaining. Mass everyday and the Rosary was very spiritual. Seeing the sights of Boston was awesome.
Serious moments and laughter, too. Wonderful feeling of being welcomed, sharing time with Deaf from other cities, and making new friends. One of my favorite times was the Red Sox game with Fr Shawn and Jeremy. Favorite moment was the expression on Fr Mike’s face when he opened our CCDC gift.
Hope others that made the trip to Boston for the ICDA-US can add to my experience and post what the trip was like for them.
Our CCDC gave Fr. Mike a portrait of himself painted by Jillian Lassiter (daughter of Jim and Michelle). He was overwhelmed and grateful to receive such a special gift.
